Bottom line is Textmod is safe to use in Guild Wars and won't result in a ban?

Virtually safe, yes. Out of the thousands of people banned, there's bound to be false positives, especially when you know certain botters didn't get banned, some got unbanned, and peope who didn't play in years also got banned for botting. (They didn't have any reason to bot, as they only logged on to chat with old friends/guildies)

Since this thread is rezed. Ill just ask a question.

How about auto clicker? to spam sweets/open tot bag without damaging my finger muscles.
Definitely (easily)detectable cuz of the superhuman speed. I remember the GM mentioned as long as I'm sitting in front of my computer playing, I'm then good?

Can anyone confirm this?

We know only what you know if you have read the same post containing the GM's statement. You use any type of automation or macro at your own risk.

ArenaNet HAS NEVER and WILL NEVER give definite approval to any macro including key binds. They are protecting themselves in case future problems occur through changes in software or hardware. Even TexMod is only tentatively approved. They have stated that CURRENTLY they are not banning for using that software, but do not promise that their stance won't change in the future if the software is modified and becomes a problem.

In the case of an automated "key clicker," how would you prove you were at the keyboard if trying to get your ban lifted? Work out your solution to that before you decide to make your current life easier.

Chatting from time to time on GC or whisper should be more than enough to prove that you actually are at the computer, just not clicking those five stacks of snowmen yourself, saving up time and finger with an autoclicker.

People have been banned for macros and auto clickers, so I could not recommend that anyone use either in good faith.

There are autoclickers used to bot areas, so it's just not a good idea to use them.

I was in GToB not too long ago and someone got Dhuum'd. Not even 10 minutes later did Dhuum return for someone else within the same area of a cluster of people.

Just figured I'd say that it was the first and second time I've ever seen Dhuum.

I believe it was called "warden"...

If they can do it without issue, can anet not also?
Scanning your task manager seems kind of... illegal. I'm not real familiar with privacy laws and the interbutts.

Yeah man I hate it when one of my antivirus/malware applications scans that.

Its all about the EULA and it is easy to make changes to the EULA that the lay player won't notice. If its simply a memory scan upon booting the GW software, it isn't an issue.

On the subject of your PC being scanned while running GW, I'd like to direct your attention at the following thread posted half a year ago, with a similar subject, and extra info:

Well anet can't by any chance detect an autoclicker. To be banned by using an aoutoclicker you have to be reported by a player that has hard evidence against you.

Depends on what information Anet is logging from every player. If they log every mouseclick, and you are making two clicks exactly every second for 10 minutes straight, it sure looks automated.
